Fuse grips are designed to transfer the hanging weight to your wrists, protecting your hands and reducing forearm fatigue.

When worn correctly, you do not pull the grip tight against your palm. Instead, you allow a small amount of slack or a "natural rubber fold" to form right before the bar. This allows the strap around your wrist to act as a anchor, meaning your wrist takes the brunt of your body weight while hanging, rather than your fingers and palm skin doing all the work.
